The Coconut Creek dojo was first established in 1987 by Steve MaGee and Tom Edenger. To date, many students have trained diligently and continuously throughout the years. The club benefits from the many years of experience of Sensei Thomas Leeman. Tom studied and taught Jishukan-Ryu Jujitsu from 1974 to 1981. In 1980, he traveled and trained in Yokosuka, Japan. Expanding his horizons in the martial arts, Sensei Tom has studied Shotokan karate since 1981 under the instruction of Master Shigeru Takashina at SAKA Headquarters. Currently his JKA rank is Yon Dan or 4th degree black belt. Tom Leeman has been the chief instructor of the Coconut Creek dojos since 1993.
